MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota males’s basketball group has finalized the addition of two transfers, ahead Dawson Garcia from North Carolina and guard Ta’Lon Cooper from Morehead State.
The college introduced the addition of Garcia and Cooper on Tuesday.
Garcia is a Minnesota native who performed his first season at Marquette and final season at North Carolina. He left the Tar Heels program halfway by means of the season to be residence whereas his father and grandmother every battled severe medical points.

The 6-foot-11, 235-pound Garcia, who was a McDonald’s All-American for Prior Lake Excessive Faculty within the Twin Cities space began all 27 video games in 2020-21 for Marquette and averaged a team-leading 13 factors and 6.6 rebounds. Garcia began 12 of 16 video games he performed in for North Carolina in 2021-22.
As a result of Garcia already transferred as soon as, he’ll want an NCAA waiver to be eligible to play instantly for the Gophers in 2022-23.
The 6-foot-4, 190-pound Cooper is a local of Roebuck, South Carolina, who performed 95 video games over three seasons for Morehead State in Kentucky. Final season, he averaged 5.9 assists per recreation, seventh-best within the nation.
