Just in time for the cold weather, Chanel’s “N°5 In The Stars” has landed at Rockefeller Center. In honor of N°5’s 100th anniversary, Chanel is taking over the equally iconic ice rink for all to enjoy. To kick off the weeklong exhibition, Chanel hosted a celebratory event with a slew of actors, musicians, influencers, and industry leaders on November 5.
Netflix stars Sadie Sink of Stranger Things and Ginny & Georgia’s Antonia Gentry were a few guests in attendance. Antonia wore a black silk jacquard top and skirt from the Fall-Winter 2021/22 Chanel ready-to-wear collection partnered with a Chanel belt, bag, and shoes. Sadie, on the other hand, wore a white stretch-jersey top from the Fall-Winter 2022 ready-to-wear collection with black wool trousers accompanied by a Chanel bag, shoes, and necklace.
As soon as you enter the expo you’re entranced by the large N°5 bottles placed throughout the entrance walkway. The setup takes you through the evolution of the Chanel bottle over the year. The evening that kicked off the event included a variety of special presentations on the ice featuring the likes of the Brass Queens Band and professional skater Elladj Baldé. As the night went on, guests were able to take photos with the giant Chanel bottles, find the perfect scent at the “Make it Yours” station and learn about the history and creation of the notable N°5. The night closed with an energizing performance from R&B artist Mary J. Blige. Guests on their way out were also gifted with Chanel N°5 perfume and body cream.
Created in 1921 by Ernest Beaux, CHANEL N°5 Parfum came into the world as a reflection of Gabrielle Chanel’s personality, breaking with the traditions of its time. It eventually became the tipping point that ushered in the modern era of perfume and changed its history. Now officially open to the public, everyone can enjoy the history of Chanel N°5 and have the perfect photo opp with the N°5 logo on the ice rink. “N°5 In The Stars” is open until November 12, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
