Talent behind recent K-pop hit moves is a 20-year-old Japanese dancer

South Korea’s distinctive K-pop music style has swept the world in recent years, its catchy tunes and flashy dance movies making worldwide stars of its prime performers.

However not each aspect of the worldwide phenomenon is made in Korea.

Among the style’s dance moves are being created in neighbouring Japan, by 20-year-old dancer and choreographer Reina Kaneko.

The expertise behind recent K-pop viral dance movies, Kaneko has choreographed for prime teams GOT the Beat and NCT 127, the winner of the grand prize on the Seoul Music Awards in January.

Kaneko, identified on-line as ReiNa, started dance classes at 5 years previous, created her first authentic choreography for a competitors a few years later and by center college was instructing hip hop dance workshops.

Her 176,000 followers on Instagram, the place she posts dance movies, now embody international superstars like Rihanna.

SM Leisure confirmed they’d employed Kaneko to choreograph for NCT 127’s “Favorite(Vampire), NCT U’s “Universe(Let’s play ball) and “Make a wish”, and GOT the Beat’s “Step back”. The company declined an interview request.

In addition to instructing in Tokyo, Kaneko holds on-line lessons for dancers overseas and choreographs stage performances for Japanese artists.

For dancing inspiration, she likes to buy groceries within the Tokyo style district of Harajuku, and says that whereas her resume hits new heights, she is going to all the time be the girl-next-door who genuinely simply loves to bounce.

“My goal at the moment is to show the world how amazing dance truly is,” she stated.
