South Korea’s distinctive K-pop music style has swept the world in recent years, its catchy tunes and flashy dance movies making worldwide stars of its prime performers.
However not each aspect of the worldwide phenomenon is made in Korea.
Among the style’s dance moves are being created in neighbouring Japan, by 20-year-old dancer and choreographer Reina Kaneko.
The expertise behind recent K-pop viral dance movies, Kaneko has choreographed for prime teams GOT the Beat and NCT 127, the winner of the grand prize on the Seoul Music Awards in January.
Kaneko, identified on-line as ReiNa, started dance classes at 5 years previous, created her first authentic choreography for a competitors a few years later and by center college was instructing hip hop dance workshops.
