The premiere date of Princess Diana’s new biopic, Spencer, directed by Pablo Larraín and starring Kristen Stewart, has arrived and new content keeps cropping up on the internet — from trailers to red carpets and now also film snippets.
On November 6, Entertainment Tonight released a new exclusive clip from Spencer. In it, we see Kristen as Princess Diana having a conversation with her sons Prince William and Prince Harry, played by Jack Nielen and Freddie Spry. The snippet finds the three hanging out on the floor, discussing their Christmas plans. “Mommy, why do we have to open our presents on Christmas Eve? Why not Christmas Day like everybody else?” William inquires. “You know in school you do tenses? There’s past, present, and future,” Lady Di replies. “Well here, there’s only one tense. There is no future. The past and the present are the same thing.” What ensues later is a tender convo between the three.
Since Spencer was first announced in 2020, all eyes have been on Kristen. When the first photo of the actor as Princess Diana was unveiled in January 2021, even skeptics were intrigued. The first trailer, which was released in August this year, gave us the first taste of KStew’s British accent, which only further piqued curiosity. ICYMI, in 2020, Kristen revealed to Jimmy Kimmel that the film would span three days in the life of Diana, which are spent at the Sandringham House in Norfolk, England, over the Christmas holidays in the ’90s.
Spencer premiered in the U.S. on November 5. If you haven’t yet, watch the new clip below:
